Scripture Reading: Genesis 20:1-10
Main Text:
Genesis 20:7
7 Now therefore restore the man his wife; for he is a prophet, and he shall pray for thee, and thou shalt live: and if thou restore her not, know thou that thou shalt surely die, thou, and all that are thine.
Abraham lied to King Abimelech that his wife was his sister. The king took her and nearly defiled her but God appeared to him in a dream and demanded that he should restore Abraham’s wife to him. God did not allow the king to take advantage of Abraham’s error and misjudgement. Disagree with the devil or your enemies when they try to use your mistakes against you.
Two reasons the enemy must restore what’s yours:
1. PROPHET - You are a prophet. No one judges you. God called you. He anointed you and placed you in the position. Everybody hasn’t got the same level of access to God. Moses was unique (Numbers 12:6-8).
2. PRAYER - Those who have stolen from you need you. There is something you can do for them. They can’t do it themselves – prayer. They are not called to do it, they don’t know how to do it and they are not anointed to do it. If you don’t pray for them they would die (Ezekiel 22:30-31).
The gifts and callings of God are without repentance (Romans 11:29). Don’t run away from your assignment because of an error. Go back to God in repentance. No man can judge another man’s servant. “to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.” (Romans 14:4).
Prayer: Pray and demand the restoration of anything that has been taken from you.
