Month Theme: The Anointing
Topic: Faith for the Anointing
Scripture Reading: Matthew 8:1-10; Acts 10:30-40
Main Text:
Matthew 8:10
10 When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
Faith is the instrument by which we detect and measure the anointing. Emotionalism, sensationalism and dramatisation are not to be confused with supernaturalism. Some believers don’t believe the anointing works until they see laborious procedures and excessive aggression in action (Zechariah 4:6).
The Roman centurion exercised great faith by telling Jesus Christ to speak the Word only and his servant would be healed. The healing anointing of the master operated with simplicity and ease because of the centurion’s faith (Matthew 8:6-10). The Centurion’s faith was based on two things:
1. I am not worthy - True faith knows what it is not. This is the basis for the humility that attracts answered prayer and the flow of the anointing. It leads to complete dependence on God and obedience.
2. I am a man under authority - Some things in and around your life speak about the workability of faith and the anointing. The centurion saw faith and authority through the ranks in the army. You can see faith in how you grow, sleep and wake up, digest food or remember things in an examination hall.
You could enjoy your walk with God better than you’re doing now. You must not struggle. The anointing is not in our struggle but in our surrender to the Holy Ghost. Jesus Christ invited us to a life of rest, not frustration (Matthew 11:28-30).
Prayer: Pray that your faith will not fail.
