THEME SCRIPTURE:
2 Thessalonians 3:1-3 (NKJV)
[1] Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you, [2] and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men; for not all have faith. [3] But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.
MESSAGE:
Second Thessalonians chapter three begins with a request for prayer from Apostle Paul, that, the Word of the Lord may run swiftly, and be glorified, even as it was with that Church (2 Thessalonians 3:1). How I wish Church members in our days, will see the need to pray for those who preach the Word, as the early Church did for Apostle Paul and his companions.
Our theme Scripture gives further details of Apostle Paul’s prayer request; he asked that they would be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men, and his reason was that, not all have faith (2 Thessalonians 3:2). It’s important we bear in mind this truth, as we go about our duties as people of faith, that, not all have faith! Scripture describes such people as unreasonable and wicked men. If you’re expecting everybody in the world to embrace the gospel without any resistance, you’ll be working contrary to Scripture. That’s why we pray; and that’s why Scripture admonishes us to give double honour to our leaders who labour in the Word and sound doctrine (1 Timothy 5:17); and I believe one of the ways to do this, is to pray for them.
In the midst of unreasonable and wicked men, Apostle Paul gave an encouragement, that, the Lord is faithful, who will establish you, and keep you from evil (2 Thessalonians 3:3). Do you believe that?
You can count on God’s faithfulness in the midst of unreasonable and wicked men! Be rest assured, that, even though not all have faith, the Lord is faithful!
