Month Theme: Reaping in the Jubilee
Topic: Return to your possession I
Scripture Reading: Job 42:10-11
Main Text: Leviticus 25:10,
Luke 4:19
To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
The Jubilee marked the restoration of all properties except houses in walled cities to the original owners and the return of slaves to their families. The people of Israel sanctified the Jubilee by restoring others’ properties to them and freeing slaves unconditionally. The state of captivity may not involve the physical relocation of people but the displacement of spiritual, emotional, mental, financial and health status.
Responding to God’s timing to turn captivity is an act of righteousness. It empowers us to bless others, opens doors for them and demonstrate the goodness of God. It is also an act of righteousness to accept God’s goodness towards us. Don’t refuse to be restored or comforted.
The biblical account of Job is an example of a person whose family, business, financial and health misfortunes were regarded as a state of captivity. He retained his integrity throughout the period of his trial and God rewarded him by turning his captivity. Your latter end in the Jubilee is blessed.
Prayer: Pray for yourself that everything you have lost will be restored to you. Pray that your spiritual, emotional, mental, financial and health status will be restored.
