Month Theme: Faith
Topic: Seeing by Faith - Advantage
Scripture Reading: Hebrews 11:1-40
Main Text:
Hebrews 11:7
7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
There are two kinds of seeing: Seeing with our natural eyes and seeing by faith. We see with the eyes things that are present but by faith Noah saw things that were not with him (Hebrews 11:7). The people in Noah's day could only see the their present situation, with no physical evidence of an impending flood. Noah, on the contrary, saw the coming flood through faith.
Noah did not see the flood as something that was meant to kill him – though he lost relatives and the world around him. He saw it with the eyes of faith – he saw God in it. It is not every difficult situation we find ourselves in that is an attack on us. Some come to glorify God. God will preserve you.
Noah’s faith made him see the flood differently. How you see the corona pandemic matters. The aim of the flood was to give Noah the advantage in life. What drowned others lifted him (Genesis 7:23-24). The Message translation of the Bible says Noah and his family were saved from the water by the water (1 Peter 3:20). The water which destroyed all other things gave them advantage. May you receive advantage.
Prayer: Pray that anything or anyone sent to destroy you will rather give you advantage in all you do.
