Month Theme: Faith
Topic: Keys to Saving your House - Righteousness
Scripture Reading: Genesis 6:1-15; Hebrews 11:1-40
Main Text:
Hebrews 11:7
7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
In yesterday's devotional, we mentioned that the word save – rescue or deliver – implies comprehensive salvation. Salvation for our houses must be comprehensive, decisive and complete (Hebrews 11:7). Comprehensive salvation involves salvation from all the assailants that attack and take control of our houses.
Save your house by breaking the influence of the Nephilim, curses and floods on your house. God gives us the keys to save our houses. Righteousness is the first key. Righteousness is right standing with God. Righteousness is when you don’t see (wickedness), eat (food offered to idols, blood), say (mockery and lying), have (idols) or do (stealing, witchcraft, occult) what others do (Genesis 7:1). Righteousness is walking with God (Genesis 6:8-9).
You need faith to be righteous because:
• You must hear and obey God whom you can’t see.
• You must walk with God in righteousness in a world which is filled with evil and wickedness.
Walking with God is comparable with walking among eggs while following God, but without stepping on or breaking the eggs.
Prayer: Pray and thank God for the gift of righteousness, and ask for the Grace to walk with Him in righteousness.
