Month Theme: Faith
Topic: The Prospects of Faith
Scripture Reading: Hebrews 11:1-40
Main Text:
Hebrews 11:1
1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
A prospect is a person regarded as likely to succeed, or as a potential customer or client. Believe that at the end of it all, you are one of the people who will survive and succeed. You are a prospect for the Hebrews 11 testimony of faith. Faith is a paradox; may even be quixotic but it is the means through which we have good report, reputation and integrity. It sets us apart from others. Achievements and prosperity by other means are not of good report.
"Elders" in Hebrews 11:2 is the Greek word presbyteros meaning elderly, older, sanhedrist (members of the celestial council), presbyter. Referring to the Hebrew patriarchs and fathers, the Message translation of the Bible says they “The act of faith is what distinguished our ancestors, set them above the crowd.” If there is anything that will distinguish between us and others, it is your faith. We are above the crowd.
The just shall live by his faith (Habakkuk 2:4). After COVID-19 our faith will set us above the crowd. In these times, the hopes of many is diminishing, but you shall be different because you carry the seed of faith inside you. You are a prospect.
Prayer: Pray and declare that you will survive these strange times, your family will survive, and anything that belongs to you will be preserved.
