Month Theme: Faith
Topic: Moving by Faith - Preaching
Scripture Reading: Hebrews 11:1-40
Main Text:
Hebrews 11:7
7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
Faith moved Noah. You cannot have faith and be stagnant. FAITH IS A FORCE. Noah was moved by faith. It is important to know how he was moved – patience – and what he was moved to do – preaching and preparing the ark.
Noah was moved by faith patiently to preach to sinners and prepare the ark. Noah was the first evangelist mentioned in the Bible. Noah received eight souls including himself in the ark not just because they were his relatives but because he preached to them (2 Peter 2:4-5). Noah was a preacher of righteousness. Some Jewish traditions quote him thus – “Be ye turned from your evil ways and works, lest the waters of the flood come upon you, and cut off all the seed of the children of men.”
The power of faith moves our minds patiently. The purpose of faith is to preach. Like Jeremiah, Noah could not stop preaching the Word of God (Jeremiah 20:9). We cannot stop preaching: we are PREACHERS, we are PROPHETS, we are PASTORS and we are PRIESTS.
Prayer: Pray for a renewed passion to preach the Gospel of Christ.
