Topic: PRAYER SUPPLIES THE SPIRIT
THEME SCRIPTURE:
Philippians 1:19 (KJV)
For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ.
MESSAGE:
A lot of God’s children have learnt how to pray and receive answers from God, but not many of us know how to avail ourselves to the Holy Spirit in prayer, to become avenues of supply of the Spirit.
The ultimate aim of God for prayer, is so that you will become a channel through whom the Holy Spirit has free flow, and expresses Himself through you, to others. This is what Apostle Paul knew would happen to him from the brethren in the Church of Philippi as they prayed for him. He was in prison, and desired deliverance or salvation from imprisonment, because he needed to reach out to others with the gospel of Jesus Christ. He therefore wrote to the Church of Philippi, saying, “For I know that this shall turn to my salvation THROUGH YOUR PRAYER, and the SUPPLY of the Spirit of Jesus Christ.” This means, prayer supplies the Spirit. Prayer is an avenue by which the Holy Spirit gains room through us, and expresses Himself to others. You’ve got to graduate from using prayer only to receive from God, to the level, where you’re now partners with the Holy Spirit, and the Spirit is supplied through your prayer.
What is your goal in prayer? Have you come to that level, where your prayer supplies the Spirit? The Spirit is calling us to a higher level! Rise up to the occasion and heed to this call. Become a supplier of the Spirit through prayer. This is our high calling in Christ Jesus.
