Month Theme: Manifestation
Topic: Supernatural Preservation
Scripture Reading: Daniel 3:10-27; 2 Kings 2:10-22
Main Text:
Romans 8:19
19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
We mentioned yesterday that the whole of creation is waiting for the manifestation of the Sons of God to be delivered from bondage and corruption (Romans 8:19). However, without preservation, manifestation will not happen. Preservation is the act or process of preserving, keeping safe, the state of being preserved, kept from injury, destruction or decay; security and safety.
At a point in the life of the prophet Elijah, when he was being persecuted, he went to God complaining about how all the prophets have been killed, and he was the only one alive. God told him that He had preserved for Himself seven thousand prophets (1 Kings 19:18). In another episode, God preserved the three Hebrew young men who were thrown in a furnace (Daniel 3:24-27). The presence of God – the fourth man – quenches fire. God will supernaturally preserve us in these interesting times.
The observers knew how strong the guards were; they knew what the fire did to the guards who cast the young men into the fire; they knew how destructive the fire was, so they thought they could predict the end of the Hebrew boys. They did not know that when the Supernatural God descends into a situation, natural laws can be suspended. The supernatural guarantees our survival. An unseen force fights for us.
Prayer: Thank God for the supernatural acts of preservation He has exhibited towards you.
