THE PROOF OF ANSWERED PRAYER

(Divine Enlargement)

“And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, [...]” - 1 Chronicles 4:10

We continue to examine the prayer of Jabez and particularly focus on his second request; enlargement and expansion.

One of God’s favourite promises is increase and enlargement. Almost all the Patriarchs of old received promises of expansion and spread.

God’s expectation of us believers is not to get comfortable in any given position but to strive for bigger and higher. It is no wonder therefore that He granted Jabez’s request.

Observe how God visited the Israelites with rebuke when they got stagnant:

“You have stayed long enough at this mountain. Break camp and advance […] See, I have given you this land. Go in and take possession of the land the Lord swore he would give to your fathers—to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob—and to their descendants after them.” - Deuteronomy 1:6-8 (NIV)

God is a God of enlargement! I have seen God move my ministry from a small classroom with 12 people, to a mega Church in different continents. I have experienced first-hand, this divine enlargement that Jabez prayed for. I asked for it, and God answered me.

God has so much in store for you. There are untapped territories He is willing to unlock for you but you must make the decision to ask. Like Jabez, pray that the Lord will increase and enlarge you.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I ask this day that you enlarge me on all sides and increase me in everything that I do. I pray that you show me great and mighty things that I have never known in the name of Jesus. Amen.
