Main Text:
Hebrews 13:4
4 Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
Paul placed great premium on marriage and family. Our love for our families is very crucial. Don’t refuse to provide food for your family with the claim that you are using your money to build the Kingdom of God. We must not spend all our time in prayer meetings and church services to the neglect of our families.
If we are unable to take care of our families the way we should, we have denied the faith and we are worse than infidels (1 Timothy 5:8). It is unfortunate to see families break down and we must do our best to hold our homes together. Children should love their parents and be in subjection to them. Parents should not provoke their children to wrath (Ephesians 6:1-4).
If we love our spouses as ourselves some things will show: We don’t cheat on them. We don’t deny them conjugal rights. We provide for them. We refrain from abusing them. We endeavour to stay united to them – we don’t do things that lead to separation. We don’t embarrass them privately or in public. We are ready to die for them. Marriage is honourable and it is good for believers to marry.
Prayer: Pray and declare that you deserve a good marriage and you will have it.
