Month Theme: Let Brotherly Love Continue
Topic: Marriage Breakthrough
Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 7:11-20; Hebrews 13:1-9
Main Text:
Hebrews 13:4
4 Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
Marriage breakthrough is when your marriage is honourable against all odds. Love is difficult when we are always commanded to love, but never receive love. For those who are married, they deserve to be loved in an honourable marriage:
1• Care
- spouses must have a heart of compassion towards each other and provide physical and emotional needs.
2• Companionship
- spouses must be friends. Communication, Respect – seen as an equal – and shared vision and purpose are needful.
3• Conjugal rights
- Conjugal needs must be met and if children come along, it is additional blessing.
The apostle Paul enjoined the believers to let brotherly love continue towards strangers, those who were in bonds and in adversity (Hebrews 13:1, 4). He also told them to love their spouses, saying marriage is honourable in all. They were to love strangers and close ones alike.
The word "honourable" in the Hebrews 13 scripture reference means precious, costly and dear. Marriage is not a light thing but honourable or precious. We should have it, and if we have it, we must cherish it and let it glorify God.
Prayer: Pray and receive an honourable marriage. A marriage which is decorated with CARE, COMPANIONSHIP and CONJUGAL RIGHTS.
