Month Theme: Manifestation
Topic: The Resolve of Elisha
Scripture Reading: 2 Kings 2:1-22
Main Text:
Hebrews 5:8
8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;
The manifestation or revelation of the sons of God is the apocalypsis of the sons of God (Romans 8:19). Someone is manifested when he or she appears or is revealed – apocalypsis. Your family, community, country and the world are waiting for your apocalypsis.
Apocalysis does not only refer to events and truths but also human beings. A human being can be an apocalypsis, a manifestation or a revelation. The revelation of people is the result of the things they suffer. RESISTANCE is a major way in which we suffer in life, family, ministry and business. The journey from Gilgal, through Bethel and Jericho to the Jordan depicts the nature of the resistance the manifested sons of God face: Discovery, Devotion, Denials, Delays (refer to yesterday's devotional and 2 Kings 2:1-6).
Elisha’s resolve broke the resistance he faced and led to his manifestation or revelation. You cannot give in to the resistance you face. Elisha began as a servant (a spiritual child), followed his master Elijah across the Jordan, returned with the mantle, was manifested as the new Elijah and delivered the creation in Jericho and other places from bondage and death. Creation is waiting for your manifestation. Break through the resistance.
Prayer: Pray for the strength and resilience to break through every resistance that is in the way of your revelation.
