Topic: The Embedded Anointing
Scripture Reading: Genesis 2:1-25

Zechariah 4:14
14 Then said he, These are the two anointed ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth.
The word EMBEDDED means:
To be fixed firmly and deeply in a surrounding mass; implanted.
To be designed and built as an integral part of a system or device. That is the nature of the anointing we carry; it is embedded in us. Zechariah 4:11-14 reveals the “two sons of oil or anointing ones” – Joshua the high priest and Zerubbabel the governor – who stood by the Lord of the whole earth.
The sons of oil stand by the Lord of the whole earth:
- To minister to the Lord of the whole earth.
- To minister for the Lord of the whole earth.
To stand by the Lord of the whole earth means more than being appointed to minister to the Lord and for Him. The word to “stand” means appointed, remain, endure, withstand and establish.
Those who stand by the Lord of the whole earth face trials and opposition but these things don’t undermine or weaken their anointing.
The anointing withstands, endures, remains and establishes the anointed ones.
Joshua faced resistance from satan (Zechariah 3:1-2). He faced accusations of wearing filthy garments, and the hardness of heart of the people. Zerubbabel faced a mountain of opposition (Zechariah 4:6-7). Opposition like betrayal from within, oppression of foreign countries and hindrances to the work of rebuilding the city and Temple. The resistance and opposition could not stop Joshua and Zerubbabel. The anointing was embedded in them. Doctrines, detractors, delays, disappointments, diseases, deficiencies, demons and destructions threaten the anointing in us. Nevertheless, we shall not be moved. The anointing is embedded in us.
Prayer: Pray for the grace to always be conscious of the embedded anointing and not the circumstances surrounding you.
