THEME SCRIPTURE:
Isaiah 60:1-3 (KJV)
[1] Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. [2] For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. [3] And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.
MESSAGE:
We’re living in an era where light is an important tool, as far as dispelling darkness is concerned. Whether spiritual or physical, light is a first preference to darkness, by those who seek the wellbeing of others.
Jesus said in John 9:5 (KJV ), that, “As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” I hope you’re aware that Jesus is no longer in the world; He sent the Holy Spirit in His stead. But He told those of us who have believed in Him, that, we are the light of the world (Matthew 5:14). Can we also make that emphatic statement, that, as long as we are in the world, we are the light of the world? Jesus even went further to instruct us thus: “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16, KJV).
This is the same instruction given in the verse 1 of our theme Scripture: “Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee” (Isaiah 60:1). We shine, when we arise! To arise, is to take God by His Word and act on it. Until we arise, we won’t shine; until we take God by His Word and act on it by faith, we cannot be a blessing, and we will disappoint those who are engulfed by darkness. The verses 2 and 3 of our theme Scripture says, “For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. [3] And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.”
The people of the world are to come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising. Become a beacon of hope in the era that we live in. Arise, shine!
