2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
MESSAGE:
From yesterday’s devotion, our Lord Jesus instructs us to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. Every human-being is a creature of God, but not everyone is a new creature.
Our theme Scripture says, “...if any man BE IN CHRIST, he is A NEW CREATURE.” Although we are all creatures of God, the new creature has the nature of God, and therefore, is a child of God. The old creature has the nature of sin inherited from Adam. A new creature may have the same physical or bodily features as the old creature, but based on the new nature in him/her, the new creature has the ability to relate to God as a Father.
Some people have questioned the existence of God on the premise that, God cannot exist and allow human beings to suffer. But what these people don’t know is that, God is not under any obligation to reach out to human beings just because He created them. Because of the fall of Adam, every human being was cut off from God; it is only those who embrace the finished work of Jesus Christ and become new creatures who have access to God as a Father. When God becomes your Father, He becomes your source, because Father means, source.
Until one becomes a new creature, he/she doesn’t have access to God as his/her source. We’ve got to explain this to those we communicate the gospel to, as we go into all the world to preach the gospel to every creature.
