Topic: FAITH WORKS BY LOVE
THEME SCRIPTURE:
Galatians 5:6 KJV
For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
MESSAGE:
We concluded in our previous devotion, that, it’s our time to do exploits with our faith, and that, we should rise up and put our faith to work.
Our theme Scripture gives us a picture of how faith works - faith works by love! In other words, faith works within the confines and boundaries of love. Faith produces results when it operates under the supervision of love. When faith is left to operate on its own without any supervision, it can misbehave. Some of God’s people have gone off on a tangent with their faith, simply because, their faith was not guided by love. Love is the referee that determines the fair or foul works of faith. If love is not around, faith can act foul; that’s how come a brother can attack another brother in the Lord.
In the field of medicine, autoimmune disease is a disease in which the body's immune system attacks healthy cells. 1 Corinthians 10:17 (KJV) says, “For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.” We are one Body, although we are many believers in Christ. As one Body, when a brother uses his faith to attack another brother, that is tantamount to autoimmune disease. You put yourself into “auto-self-destruct” when you use your faith against another brother in Christ. That’s why we must walk in love if we’re going to be effective in putting our faith to work; because faith works by love!
