Month Theme: The Anointing
Topic: The Power of Touch
Scripture Reading: Acts 10:30-40
Main Text:
Matthew 8:15
15 And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them.
Jesus Christ demonstrated the simplicity of the anointing in His earthly ministry. In a certain situation, He healed Peter’s mother-in-law of a fever just by touching her hand (Matthew 8:14-15). He did not tell her to yell, “I am healed” twenty-one times and thereafter pour a large quantity of anointing oil on her entire body – a simple touch was enough to heal the woman.
Jesus Christ’s touch on Peter’s mother-in-law produced two results:
1. Evacuation - The fever left her. Demons and diseases are in hurry to leave. When you touch those, who are bound or oppressed by demons, the demons have only one to go. They don’t stay, they don’t go deeper into the person but rather leave the person (Matthew 10:6-8).
2. Elevation - She arose. The woman stood on her feet and ministered to Him – this is a mark of elevation. When demons are cast out of people or when they are healed, they are raised up. Demonisation weakens people but when the demons are cast out there is elevation (James 5:14-15).
Prayer: Pray and declare that anything or anyone you touch is blessed.
