Month Theme: The Anointing
Topic: Pleasing the Father Always
Scripture Reading: Acts 10:30-40
Main Text:
Acts 10:38
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
If the anointing is there, you will know it – it has indicators. There were certain features in the life of Jesus Christ, which indicated the constancy of His anointing. One of them was the Father was well pleased in Him (Luke 3:22). When the Father is well pleased with you, He anoints you with oil or gives you the Holy Ghost. Lucifer did not please the Father – he fell.
Adam did not please the Father – he disobeyed.
Jesus Christ pleased the Father always – He was obedient unto death.
Two things can be associated with those who please the Father and have the anointing always:
1. Action
- Jesus always did those things that pleased the Father. The Father did not leave Him alone (John 8:29).
2. Association
- Jesus Christ preached the Gospel to the poor – he was associated with the oppressed. God therefore anointed Him with the Holy Ghost and power with which He went about doing good, and healing the oppressed.
The world, your family and you need the anointing. Let’s believe in God to supply that need – the anointing – also. If we please the Father, He would supply the anointing (Philippians 4:18-19).
Prayer: Pray for the grace to please the Father always.
